The New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars will both be trying to pick up a win on Sunday Afternoon when they battle at TIAA Bank Field.

ABOUT THE JETS (1-5): Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 338 yards and posted a 113.8 passer rating against the Cowboys but watched those numbers fall to 86 yards, four interceptions and a 3.6 rating on Monday, and the second-year player was picked up by sideline microphones saying he was “seeing ghosts” after the third pick. “I just gotta see the field a lot better,” Darnold told reporters. “That’s kinda what that means. It was a rough day out there, rough night out there, and obviously I gotta be better and learn from the mistakes. But we will get better.” Darnold will work on getting better without offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele, who is determined to have surgery to repair a torn labrum on Friday whether or not the team signs off.

ABOUT THE JAGUARS (3-4): Jacksonville quarterback Nick Foles suffered a broken clavicle in the first game of the season and finally returned to practice on a limited basis this week, though he is not eligible to come off injured reserve until Week 9. Quarterbacking duties will remain with rookie Gardner Minshew II, who owns 10 TD passes and two interceptions in six starts and is completing 61.5 percent of his passes. “We’re starting to see a lot of different things – and his reaction to it,” Jaguars coach Doug Marrone told reporters of Minshew. “He’s getting better experience with it, being able to handle it. I think those things are going well.”

Oddsmakers opened the Jaguars as 6-point favorites versus the Eagles, while the game’s total opened at 40.5.

The Jacksonville Jaguars figured out how to force turnovers last week, snapping a two-game slide and giving the defense some confidence heading home to face the New York Jets on Sunday. The Jets, who turned the ball over six times in a 33-0 home loss to the New England Patriots on Monday, need to tighten things up on offense against the Jaguars.

Jacksonville forced one turnover in its first six games but got the Cincinnati Bengals to cough up the ball four times during a 27-17 triumph last week despite being without Pro Bowl corner Jalen Ramsey, who was traded away before the contest. “It’s what Jaguar defense is all about,” linebacker Myles Jack told reporters. “We create turnovers. We play physical. We’ve been playing good defense. We just haven’t been able to get those turnovers that we needed. So, once we’re able to create that, I feel like it puts our offense in easier situations, do their thing, and allow them to get into a rhythm. It’s a great feeling, man. It’s a great feeling to see that ball going the other way.” The Jets were feeling good about themselves after knocking off the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6 but crashed back down to earth hard against the Patriots, and consistency is an issue. “What we put out in the field is on me and it wasn’t good enough,” New York coach Adam Gase told reporters of Monday’s setback. “…Unfortunately, I haven’t found the formula yet to make us anything close to consistent.”
