The Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals will both be trying to pick up a win on Sunday Afternoon when they battle at State Farm Stadium.

ABOUT THE FALCONS (1-4): Ryan threw for 330 yards in last week’s 53-32 drubbing at Houston to join Steve Young (1998), Kurt Warner (2000), Peyton Manning (2009 and 2013) and Patrick Mahomes (2019) as the only players in NFL history with at least 300 in each of their team’s first five games of a season. Austin Hooper, who has made six or more catches in three consecutive games, ranks second in receptions (34) and third in receiving yards (363) among tight ends this season. Julio Jones (hip), who caught a touchdown pass in each of his first three contests but has been shut out in the last two, returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant after sitting out the previous day.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS (1-3-1): Murray, who became the first rookie quarterback since Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota in 2015 to throw for 250 yards and run for 90 in a game, leads all first-year signal-callers in passing yards (1,324). Linebacker Jordan Hicks has made at least 10 tackles in each of his three home games this season and is tied for third in the league with 54 overall. The Cardinals have lost three straight and five of their last six matchups with Atlanta but posted a 27-13 victory in their last home meeting on Oct. 27, 2013.

Oddsmakers opened the Falcons as 2.5-point favorites versus the Cardinals, while the game’s total opened at 51.5.

Kyler Murray put on quite a performance in leading the Arizona Cardinals to their first win of the season last week. The 2019 first overall draft pick looks to make it two in a row when the Cardinals host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Murray threw for 253 yards while running for 93 of the team’s season-high 266 yards and a touchdown as Arizona edged winless Cincinnati 26-23 on the road last Sunday. The 22-year-old rookie was superb during the Cardinals’ game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, igniting it with a 24-yard pass and running for another 24 yards a few plays later after his intended receiver slipped. Murray hopes to follow up by contributing to the current woes of the Falcons, who have lost three in a row overall and all three of their road games this year. Matt Ryan has performed well away from home, however, tossing at least two scoring passes in 10 straight road contests and throwing for 300-plus yards in each of the last five.
