The Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers will both be gunning for a victory on Wednesday when they meet at Comerica Park.

Dobnak was stretched out in his last two starts, giving up two runs (one earned) over five innings at Cleveland on Sept. 15 before yielding one over 5 1/3 frames to beat Kansas City on Friday. The 24-year-old Pennsylvania native, who is scheduled to be married Saturday, completed three innings combined in his first two starts as an opener earlier this month. Dobnak struck out three and gave up two hits in a scoreless inning of relief against Detroit on Aug. 31.

Norris has been removed after three innings in each of the last eight appearances to limit workload, and his winless streak has increased to nine contests. The 26-year-old Tennessee native has given up 10 runs across 24 innings during that eight-game stretch after yielding one run on three hits in a loss at Cleveland on Thursday. Rosario is 3-for-7 with two solo homers against Norris, who is 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA in two games (one start) versus the Twins in 2019.

Oddsmakers opened the Twins as 190-moneyline favorites versus the Brewers, while the game’s total opened at 9.5.

The Minnesota Twins have been a dominant team on the road this season and look to register their club-record 52nd victory away from home when they visit the major league-worst Detroit Tigers on Wednesday for the second contest of a three-game set. The Twins scored four times in the seventh inning to erase a one-run deficit and post a 4-2 victory Tuesday, reducing their magic number to two for winning the American League Central.

Eddie Rosario belted a two-run double to cap the uprising and has knocked in 11 runs while going 15-for-42 in the last 10 games for Minnesota (97-60), which can tie the second-most wins in club history (1970) by knocking off the Tigers on Wednesday and top the 1965 team (51-30) in road victories. Detroit won’t break its franchise record for most losses in a season (119 in 2003), but the Tigers reached 110 to pass the 1996 team for second Tuesday and need one victory in their next two games to avoid matching the major league record for the most setbacks at home in one campaign set by the St. Louis Browns (59) in 1939. Dawel Lugo had a pair of doubles and an RBI in the latest loss for Detroit and is 8-for-12 over his last three contests while improving to 17-for-40 against the Twins this season. The Tigers will give left-hander Daniel Norris the first few innings on the mound in the middle game in the series and Minnesota counters with righty Randy Dobnak, who makes his fifth start.
