The Cleveland Indians and the San Francisco Giants will both be gunning for a victory on Monday when they meet at AT&T Park in an interleague contest.

The Indians will give the ball to starter Josh Tomlin in this one. Right hander Tomlin is 5-9 this season with a 5.90 ERA.

Meanwhile, it’ll be Matt Moore who starts for the Giants. Left hander Moore is 3-9 with a 6.04 ERA so far this season.

Tomlin turned in an encouraging outing last Thursday against San Diego, allowing two runs over seven innings in an 11-2 victory. The strong performance was a step in the right direction after the 32-year-old gave up a total of 21 runs in his five previous starts. Eduardo Nunez is hitless in nine at-bats against Tomlin, who is 9-5 with a 4.51 ERA in 18 career interleague starts but has never faced San Francisco.

Moore’s disastrous season continued in his last start on July 7, when he allowed five runs on 12 hits over 3 1/3 innings against Miami. The Giants are 5-13 when the 28-year-old takes the mound, including 2-6 at home. Moore, who owns a 2-1 record and 3.81 ERA in six starts against the Indians, last faced Cleveland in 2016 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays and allowed one run in seven innings.

Oddsmakers currently have the Indians listed as 122-moneyline favorites versus the Giants, while the game’s total is sitting at 8½.

The Cleveland Indians look to snap their longest losing streak since 2015 on Monday as they open a three-game series against the host San Francisco Giants, who have dropped six of their last seven. Cleveland was swept in three games by last-place Oakland over the weekend and have lost four in a row, but they’ll receive little sympathy from a cellar-dwelling Giants team that has fallen 23 games under .500.

Francisco Lindor went 4-for-4 with three doubles in Sunday’s 7-3 loss to the Athletics, but he was one of the few bright spots as starting pitcher Trevor Bauer lasted just eight batters and failed to escape the first inning. The Indians were 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position in the loss but still lead the American League Central by 1 1/2 games over Minnesota and hope to get untracked across the Bay. Giants first baseman Brandon Belt was scratched from Sunday’s 7-1 loss to San Diego with a sprained left wrist and is listed as day-to-day, and the team desperately needs his power. Belt has a team-high 16 home runs for the Giants, who have hit the fewest homers in the majors and have been outhomered 36-24 at AT&T Park.

The Giants were a 7-1 loser in their most recent outing on the road against the Padres. That made winners of bettors who got San Diego at 123 on the moneyline, while the total score (8) was good news for OVER bettors.

In their last action, Cleveland was a 7-3 loser on the road against the Athletics. Bettors on Oakland at -106 on the moneyline collected their winnings from that game, while the total score (10) sent OVER bettors home happy as well.
