The San Francisco Giants will be fighting to snap a losing streak on Wednesday when they take on the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Matt Cain will be the starting pitcher for the Giants on this day. Right hander Cain is 2-1 this season with a 4.70 ERA.

Meanwhile, it’ll be Tommy Milone who starts for the Mets. Left hander Milone is 1-0 with a 6.43 ERA so far this season.

Cain‘s ERA jumped nearly 2 1/2 runs following a horrific outing at Cincinnati, when he was tagged for a career high-tying nine runs on 10 hits and six walks – also matching a career worst. The 32-year-old was a model of consistency in his previous four turns, giving up a combined three runs and six walks. Cain has been tormented by New York’s Jose Reyes (10-for-22) and Jay Bruce (8-for-19).

Milone, who split his six appearances with Milwaukee between the rotation and bullpen, was waived after giving up four runs on six hits in a two-inning relief stint on April 29. His best outing came against the reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs, yielding one run on three hits over five innings. Milone has struggled with the long ball, giving up six in his last four appearances.

Oddsmakers currently have the Mets listed as 137-moneyline favorites versus the Giants, while the game’s total is sitting at 8.

Amid another drama-filled day off the field, featuring a mea culpa from suspended pitcher Matt Harvey, the New York Mets are playing some pretty good ball. New York goes for a three-game sweep of the visiting San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon and can move above the .500 mark for the first time since April 19.

Neil Walker delivered a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth in the series opener and sparked a four-run first inning Tuesday with a two-RBI triple as the Mets made it eight wins in 11 games with a 6-1 victory. Partly because of Harvey’s suspension, left-hander Tommy Milone was claimed off waivers Sunday and will make his New York debut in the finale of the three-game set. The reeling Giants have dropped five in a row and fell to a major league-worst 11-23 entering the final stop of a nine-game road trip. Buster Posey homered in the first two games of the series for San Francisco, which has managed only nine runs and 23 hits during the five-game skid.

New York was a 6-1 winner in its last match on the road against the Giants. They won as -113 favorites, while the total score of 7 made winners of PUSH bettors.

San Francisco was a 6-1 loser in its last match on the road against the Mets. They lost as +103 underdogs, while the total score of 7 made winners of PUSH bettors.
