The fans at Auburn Arena will be treated to a game between the Florida Gators and the Auburn Tigers when they take their seats on Tuesday.

ABOUT FLORIDA (20-5, 10-2 SEC): While the Gators have turned up their offensive production of late, it has been their defense that has been their greatest strength, and that was the case against Texas A&M as the team held the Aggies to 39 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers. KeVaughn Allen (13.1 points) and Devin Robinson (11.4) are averaging only 7.5 and five points, respectively, in the last two games, but Leon (seven) has averaged 14 and Chiozza (5.8, four assists) 13 in those contests to help pick up the slack. John Egbunu (7.7 points, 6.7 rebounds) is coming off his first double-double of the season – a 10-point, 11-rebound performance – while Kasey Hill (9.7 points) ranks fourth in the SEC in steals (1.9) and second in assists (4.8).

ABOUT AUBURN (16-9, 5-7): The Tigers have showed they can score, ranking third in the SEC in points per game (80) – with all three of their double-figure scorers – Mustapha Heron (15.3 points), Jared Harper (12.3) and Danjel Purifoy (11.5) – part of Pearl’s talented freshman class. Another first-year starter, 6-11 center Austin Wiley (9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds), is hitting 62.5 percent of his shots and is one of five Tigers – who rank third in the SEC in blocked shots – with 18 or more rejections. Graduate student Ronnie Johnson (7.5 points), who led the team with 18 points and eight assists against Mississippi, and senior guard T.J. Dunans (7.8) have provided some much-needed veteran leadership.

Bovada Sportsbook currently has the Gators listed as 9½-point favorites versus the Tigers, while the game’s total is sitting at 155½ according to GTBETS.

Auburn lost its last outing, a 90-84 result against Rebels on February 11. They failed to cover in that game as a +5-point underdog.

Last time out for Florida, they were a 71-62 winner as they battled Aggies at home. They failed to cover in the match as a -11.5-point favorite.

No. 13 Florida, which is tied atop the SEC with South Carolina and Kentucky, goes after its seventh consecutive victory on Tuesday as it visits Auburn. The Gators are coming off 71-62 triumph over Texas A&M in which they overcame a poor shooting effort, while Bruce Pearl’s young Tigers will be looking to bounce back from squandering a 23-point, second-half lead en route to a 90-84 loss to Mississippi.

The Gators had been on a major offensive roll, averaging 88.6 points in the five games prior to facing the Aggies, but they found themselves trailing 40-36 after shooting just 3-of-21 during a stretch bridging the two halves. However, behind the play of Justin Leon (18 points, 4-of-8 on 3-pointers) and reserves Canyon Barry (12 points) and Chris Chiozza (11, five assists), the Gators then hit 9-of-11 shots to regain the lead and pull away. The Tigers, whose top four scorers are freshmen, showed their youth in allowing 60-plus points in the second half of their last two games, a 98-92 win over Mississippi State and the loss to Mississippi. “We’ve got to be accountable about this one right here,” a frustrated Pearl told reporters after his team lost despite leading 52-29 with 18:13 left in the game. “This is the most disappointing loss of my career here at Auburn – 63 points in the second half.”
