The fans at Pete Maravich Assembly Center will be treated to a game between the Florida Gators and the LSU Tigers when they take their seats on Wednesday.

ABOUT FLORIDA (14-5, 5-2 SEC): The Gators gave up 10 makes from 3-point range against Vanderbilt, including 5-of-11 in the second half, despite that being the No. 1 focus of the defensive game plan against the Commodores. Sophomore guard KeVaughn Allen poured in 29 points, including 5-of-12 from behind the arc, in the loss and leads the team overall at 14 per contest. Senior guard Canyon Barry (12.4 points), who is questionable after suffering an ankle injury in practice Monday, and junior forward Devin Robinson (11.3) also average in double figures scoring for the Gators.

ABOUT LSU (9-9, 1-6): The Tigers shot 51.6 percent from the field in Saturday’s 99-86 loss at Arkansas, but allowed 53.2 – including 8-of-16 from 3-point range – and were outrebounded 44-30. Freshman guard Skylar Mays scored a season-high 22 points and sophomore Brandon Sampson added 15 after totaling 25 in his previous four contests. Sophomore Antonio Blakeney leads the team in scoring (16.7) while junior forward Duop Reath averages 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and is shooting 54.4 percent from the field after draining 13-of-19 from the field the last two games.

Oddsmakers currently have the Gators listed as 11-point favorites versus the Tigers, while the game’s total is sitting at 156.5.

LSU was a 99-86 loser in their most recent outing on the road against Razorbacks. They covered the +14.5-point spread as underdogs.

Last time out for Florida, they were a 68-66 loser as they battled Commodores at home. They failed to cover in the match as a -11.5-point favorite.

No. 25 Florida will try to regain some confidence after two straight losses when they visit struggling LSU on Wednesday night for an SEC battle. The Gators dropped a 57-53 decision at South Carolina on Jan. 18 before coughing up a lead in the second half at home and falling 68-66 to Vanderbilt on Saturday for their first two defeats in conference play.

“I don’t know if you guys noticed, but in our timeouts we had some finger-pointing going on. A lot of immaturity,” Florida coach Mike White told reporters after the Vanderbilt loss. “Our culture has really improved, but (Saturday) we had a lot of ugliness that showed back up.” The Gators have a chance to reset against the Tigers, who have lost five straight games, and then visit Oklahoma for a non-league contest on Saturday. LSU has not won since Jan. 4 at Missouri and lost three SEC games at home this season by an average of 13 points. “We’ve got to make sure we’re able to put that 40 minutes together,” Tigers coach Johnny Jones told reporters. “We know it’s not going to be perfect, but as close as we can get to it – it’s going to give us a much better opportunity for success.”
