Kent State got a 144-yard performance from Nick Holley as a key part of its 27-24 victory over the Chippewas on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

The Golden Flashes were a +12.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 44.0.

Nick Holley rushed for 144 yards, while Justin Rankin added 78 yards in the win. Mike Carrigan and Raekwon James added 42 and 22 receiving yards respectively.

Devon Spalding rushed for 40 yards for Central Michigan, while Cooper Rush added 34 yards. Cooper Rush threw for 244 yards for the Chippewas, while receivers Corey Willis and Mark Chapman had 78 and 73 yards respectively.

Kent State lost the offensive yardage battle to Central Michigan 349-330 yards in Saturday’s game. Central Michigan had more first downs as that total ended up 19-14.

Kent State lost the time of possession battle 34:37-25:23, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Kent State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Western Michigan. Central Michigan will aim to get back on the winning track at Miami-OH.
