Elijah McGuire scampered through the Texas State defense for 112 yards as Louisiana-Lafayette handed the Bobcats a 27-3 defeat on Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.

The Ragin’ Cajuns were a -6.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 65.0.

Elijah McGuire rushed for 112 yards, while Raymond Calais added 43 yards in the win. Michael Jacquet and Keenan Barnes added 54 and 42 receiving yards respectively.

Stedman Mayberry rushed for 54 yards for Texas State, while Tyler Jones added 17 yards. Tyler Jones threw for 142 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Elijah King and Gabe Schrade had 42 and 29 yards respectively.

Louisiana-Lafayette outgained Texas State 401-221 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-13 by the Ragin’ Cajuns.

The time of possession battle favored Louisiana-Lafayette as their offense was on the field for 29:25, longer than the 27:11 of their opponents.

Next game, Louisiana-Lafayette takes its act home to face Idaho looking for another win. For Texas State, they head on the road to face Appalachian State.
