Akron’s aerial attack produced 338 yards and the Zips produced a 35-25 victory over Ball State on Saturday at Scheumann Stadium.

Akron was an underdog by +3.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 62.0.

Tommy Woodson completed 27 of 40 pass attempts for 338 yards for the Zips in the win.

James Gilbert rushed for 133 yards for Ball State, while Riley Neal added 76 yards. Riley Neal threw for 187 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers KeVonn Mabon and Corey Lacanaria had 88 and 29 yards respectively.

Ball State lost the offensive yardage battle to Akron 529-443 yards in Saturday’s game. Ball State had more first downs as that total ended up 28-26.

The time of possession battle favored Ball State as their offense was on the field for 30:26, longer than the 29:34 of their opponents.

Next game, Akron takes its act on the road to face Buffalo looking for another win. For Ball State, they head home to face Western Michigan.
