Alex McGough led the way with 315 passing yards on Saturday as the Golden Panthers picked up a 27-26 victory over the 49ers at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

The Golden Panthers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -1.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 57.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Alex McGough completed 26 of 42 pass attempts for 315 yards for the Golden Panthers in the win.

Kalif Phillips rushed for 99 yards for Charlotte, while Hasaan Klugh added 95 yards. Hasaan Klugh threw for 171 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Austin Duke and Kyle Hoffman had 47 and 24 yards respectively.

FIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Charlotte 403-354 yards in Saturday’s game. Charlotte had more first downs as that total ended up 24-19.

FIU lost the time of possession battle 33:42-26:18, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

FIU heads into a 8 battle against LA Tech. Charlotte, meanwhile, will have their next action against Marshall.
