Devon Spalding tore up the turf for 124 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Chippewas to a 34-28 win over the Huskies at Huskie Stadium.

The Chippewas were a +2.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score pushed PUSH the total, which closed at 62.0.

Devon Spalding rushed for 124 yards, while Jahray Hayes added 105 yards in the win. Corey Willis and Mark Chapman added 66 and 43 receiving yards respectively.

Aregeros Turner rushed for 80 yards for NIU, while Jordan Huff added 43 yards. Anthony Maddie threw for 165 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Kenny Golladay and Christian Blake had 70 and 38 yards respectively.

NIU was outgained by Central Michigan 484-339 yards in Saturday’s match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-16 by the Chippewas.

The time of possession battle favored Central Michigan as their offense was on the field for 56:01, longer than the 33:59 of their opponents.

Next game, Central Michigan takes its act on the road to face Toledo looking for another win. For NIU, they head home to face Buffalo.
