Jeffrey Wilson tore up the turf for 157 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Mean Green to a 42-35 win over the Owls at Rice Stadium.

North Texas was the ATS victor, as they covered the +7.5-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 53.0 were rewarded at the payout window.

Jeffrey Wilson rushed for 157 yards, while Willy Ivery added 30 yards in the win. Kenny Buyers and Thaddeous Thompson added 102 and 36 receiving yards respectively.

Tyler Stehling rushed for 92 yards for Rice, while Jawon Davis added 68 yards. Tyler Stehling threw for 232 yards for the Owls, while receivers Zach Wright and Lance Wright had 120 and 55 yards respectively.

North Texas lost the offensive yardage battle to Rice 491-439 yards in Saturday’s game. Rice had more first downs as that total ended up 28-19.

Rice led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 51:35-38:25 split in that important category.

Next game, North Texas takes its act home to face Middle Tennessee looking for another win. For Rice, they head on the road to face Southern Miss.
