Isaiah Ford was good for 117 receiving yards on Saturday as the Hokies grabbed a 54-17 win over the Pirates at Lane Stadium.

Virginia Tech won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -13.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 57.0.

Jerod Evans rushed for 97 yards, while Sam Rogers added 29 yards in the win. Isaiah Ford and Cam Phillips added 117 and 55 receiving yards respectively.

Anthony Scott rushed for 69 yards for East Carolina, while James Summers added 34 yards. Philip Nelson threw for 362 yards for the Pirates, while receivers Jimmy Williams and Isaiah Jones had 179 and 115 yards respectively.

East Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Virginia Tech 462-443 yards in Saturday’s game. Virginia Tech had more first downs as that total ended up 18-16.

Virginia Tech led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:03-29:57 split in that important category.

Next game, Virginia Tech takes its act on the road to face North Carolina looking for another win. For East Carolina, they head home to face UCF.
