The Avalanche came up short Tuesday against the Blues, falling 3-1.

St. Louis won as a -237 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 5.0 were rewarded at the payout window.

St. Louis got goals from Troy Brouwer, David Backes, and Vladimir Tarasenko in the victory. Backes opened the scoring at 1:48 of the first period.

Brian Elliott turned in a 20-save effort for the Blues.

Simeon Varlamov stopped 24 of 27 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn’t enough to earn the victory.

St. Louis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Bruins. The Avalanche will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Washington.
