In the past Sunday’s game Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning was about to add another career milestone when time ran out.

Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Manning started with 3 yards short of Brett Favre’s all-time mark of 71,838 career passing yards. Manning took over the leadership, after his 4-yard pass to Ronnie Hillman.

The NFL posted in their Twitter account, “This is how Peyton Manning joined the record books and became the NFL all-time leader in career passing yards “

This top spot was the best that happened to Manning in this Sunday’s game, since the player threw four interceptions before being replaced by Brock Osweiler during the third quarter with the Broncos down by 22-0.

Besides the four interceptions, Manning was 5-of-20 for 35 yards with no touchdowns when he was replaced.

This game was Manning’s 265th regular-season start and 57th start with the Broncos since he signed with Denver in 2012.

The player didn’t have the chance to set record against the Colts the past Sunday in Indianapolis. The same Colts, that selected him No. 1 in the 1998 draft and where he played 14 seasons.

Manning’s records since he signed with the Broncos in 2012 are; single-season passing yardage (5,477 yards), single-season touchdowns (55) and career touchdown passes (530 going into Sunday’s game).

Next to Manning and Favre, Dan Marino is the only QB in NFL history to have topped 60,000 career passing yards.
