According To several media reports Miami Marlins hired Don Mattingly.

Mattingly will manage the Marlins for four years, but the official announcement will be made after the World Series.

He was the Los Angeles Dodgers manager, and left the team on Oct. 22 with still one year remaining on his contract. The Dodger won 55 percent of their regular-season games in his five seasons (446-363), and Mattingly led the Dodgers to three straight National League West titles, during his first appearance with the franchise.

But the team went  8-11 in the postseason. Even though they lost the NL Division Series to the New York Mets, who are playing the World Series.

The Marlins started their search for their new manager earlier this month, after it was a fact that, Dan Jennings would not return in the role next season.  He went from GM to manager after the Marlins parted ways with Mike Redmond in May after a 16-22 start.

But the change did not work for the Marlins, who finished 71-91 in their sixth consecutive losing season.

Since Jennings was fired on Thursday, President of baseball operations Michael Hill was left in charge.

“I just thought the way it was running since the middle of May was the way it should continue to run,” team president David Samson said. “The ideas that Michael has as to how to turn this around are ideas that I think are right.”
