Even though the New York Jets made changes to his staff and players, it was not enough to beat the New England Patriots, and of course Tom Brady.

The Jets led Sunday’s game for long stretches, but at the end they fell 30-23. The Patriots left their running game aside, and focused on letting Brady throw. Brady completed 34 of 54 passes for 354 yards and two touchdowns.

This game was important, because the Jets (4-2) could have tied into a first place with the Patriots (6-0) if they had won the game. But still, it was barely a season-altering loss.

The Jets offense suffered today. During his first carry Chris Ivory tweaked a hamstring, keeping him from playing at his top. Seeing that they had poor success on the ground, they were forced to play Ryan Fitzpatrick through air. That was hard, because the Patriots were great neutralizing Brandon Marshall (four catches for 67 yards).

They made some positive decisions, Chan Gailey Offensive coordinator deserves recognition for his play calling, Gailey allowed the Jets to stay balanced by integrating Jeremy Kerley into the offense and imported a play-action rollout into the game plan, which was a few times successfully.

Sadly center Nick Mangold suffered what looked like a head/neck injury in the final minute, the player left the field walking slow and didn’t return for the rest of the game. Calvin Pryor suffered an ankle injury while defending, this gave the recently signed Dion Bailey a chance to play full time.
