Daniel Murphy and the New York Mets have figured out how to dominate the Cubs and Jake Arrieta.

The Mets won Game 2 on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs 4-1, and lead the NL Championship Series.

Like Mets captain David Wright said “We’ve beaten some of the best the game has to offer.”

In the first inning, Murphy hit an incredible homerun that caught everyone by surprise, even his teammates. Arrieta wasn’t even starting to get comfortable, when the Mets scored three runs.

Murphy said “We’re having a whole bunch of fun right now,” and it’s no surprise the player has the “star of the game” seat reserved in the interview room.

Noah Syndergaard kept the Cubs scoreless till the sixth inning. Chris Coghlan’s homerun was robbed by Curtis Granderson, Granderson waited and jumped to catch the ball in the right moment.

After defeating pitchers like Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Jon Lester and Arrieta, The Mets are two wins from finally reaching their first World Series since 2000.

On Tuesday night at Wrigley Field, the Mets will start with the 2014 NL Rookie of the Year, Jacob deGrom. Steven Matz is expected to play in Game 4, and after him, Game 1 winner Matt Harvey on Thursday, if it’s necessary.

The Chicago Cubs will go with Kyle Hendricks in Game 3. The Cubs will have to force the best-of-seven NLCS back to Citi Field next weekend, in order to still have the chance of winning the World Series for the first time since 1945.

“We’re all about one-game winning streaks,” according to Chicago manager Joe Maddon. “I know its psychobabble 101, but it actually works.”
