Although the Dodgers have appeared in the postseason three consecutive times in franchise history, they missed their opportunity of winning the first World Series in 27 years, when the team was eliminated in the NLDS for the second consecutive year.

Zack Greinke is thinking about ending his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and try free agency, according to a report.

People have been speculating about the player’s decision to end his contract, even though he has three more years and $71 million remaining on the six-year deal he signed before the 2013 season with the Dodgers.

According to different sources Greinke might receive several contract offers of at least $125 million over five years. Greinke, who is turning 32 next Wednesday, and is ending the best season of his 12-year career, is an aspirant or the National League Cy Young Award. In 32 regular-season starts, the three-time All-Star player has 19-3 with a major league-leading 1.66 ERA this season.

The player said he was “not even thinking” about his future with the Dodgers after his team lost to the New York Mets in Game 5 of the NLDS on Thursday.

“It would be nice to be back [with the Dodgers],” Greinke said. “I’m not even thinking about it. It’s more about today, I guess. Maybe after I get home.”
