According to TiqIQ, a company that keeps track on resale tickets, both Chicago and New York has the most expensive league championship series ticket since the company started in 2010.
CitiField Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 ticket sale has an average on the secondary market of $838.40, and tickets at Wrigley are averaging $1,228.16. Since 2010 the previous league championship series record was for the San Francisco Giants in 2012, with an average ticket price of $662.64.
Sellers will be able to get their asking price for games 3, 4 and 5 at Wrigley depending on the team’s performance in New York in games 1 and 2.
According to Chicago-based Gold Coast Tickets, the least expensive tickets the company is selling are for Game 3, the first in Wrigley, for $350. The initial price is comparable to the price for the cheapest Chicago Bulls seats during their six-championship run, factoring for inflation.
StubHub says the average price for Games 1 and 2 in New York, as of 10 a.m. ET, was $386 and $358 respectively, and for Games 3 and 4 in Chicago was $683 and $760.
