The battle between the Chippewas and Bulls didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Buffalo was handed a 51-14 defeat on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The Chippewas were a -6.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 55.5.
Anthone Taylor rushed for 52 yards, while Jordan Johnson added 23 yards in the win. Ron Willoughby and Matt Weiser added 53 and 29 receiving yards respectively.
Martez Walker rushed for 60 yards for Buffalo, while Romello Ross added 54 yards. Cooper Rush threw for 313 yards for the Bulls, while receivers Jesse Kroll and Anthony Rice had 133 and 35 yards respectively.
Buffalo was outgained by Central Michigan 463-241 yards in Saturday’s match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-13 by the Chippewas.
Central Michigan led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 35:10-24:50 split in that important category.
Central Michigan looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Ball State. Buffalo will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Ohio.
