Despite practicing all week with his knee injured Vernon Davis will not play against the New York Giants. This is Davis 10th NFL season, he missed two games last season and one in 2013, but before this he hadn’t missed a game since 2007. The player sat out last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, after he suffered a knee injury last week at the Arizona Cardinals.

Ahmad Brooks, who hasn’t played since the death of his sister, might be a possible outside linebacker for the next game. According to Defensive coordinator Eric Mangini, the player is not completely ruled out, and will be listed as doubtful. “I mean, we’re talking about a family tragedy. That family is going through an awful time right now,” Niners coach Jim Tomsula said.

Joe Staley, who was limited in Friday’s practice this week for the first time, after he suffered a knee injury last weekend. According to Tomsula the player would be back on Thursday, he also said “I’m not going to put anybody in danger.” Staley and Receiver Quinton Patton, who suffered a concussion last week, are both listed as questionable.
