Texas Rangers veteran, Adrian Beltre stayed home Saturday, the player was excused from workout so he can rest his strained lower back and take medications. The team is still not sure if the player will be ready for Game 3 of the AL Division Series on Sunday night. Rangers will play against the Toronto Blue Jays in the best-of-five series.

During Game 1 in Toronto, the player strained his back when he was sliding into second base. This made the player exit from the series opener on Thursday before sitting out Game 2 on Friday. According to manager Jeff Banister “He’s day to day, has made some improvement, continues to get better,” he also said, “We felt like the best thing for him to do is rest and get the treatments as needed.”

Beltre was seen with a bat in his hand, taking some swings in the tunnel during the Rangers’ 14-inning victory on Friday, but he never joined the game. The player will be reevaluated before the game Sunday.

Hanser Alberto, Rangers rookie played third base for Beltre, the player drove in two runs, had a sacrifice fly, followed by an RBI single for the tiebreaking run in the 14th inning of the 6-4 victory. He and rookie Joey Gallo, were seen taking grounders at third base during Saturday’s workout, even though Gallo is not on the ALDS roster.
