The Toronto Blue Jays infielder, Josh Donaldson left in the fifth inning, after he took Odor’s left knee to the head, during a game against the Texas Rangers. This the first time in 22 years Donaldson didn’t finish his first postseason game.

Rougned Odor made a solo shot, Robinson Chirinos hit a two-run homer against David Price, and the Blue Jays lost to the Texas Rangers 5-3 in an AL Division Series opener. According to Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, the AL MVP candidate felt light-headed while he was playing defense during the fifth, forcing him to leave the game. But after he was checked for concussions, the player apparently passed all the tests, and will be monitored.

Adrian Beltre, Rangers third baseman, also had to leave the game, because of a strained lower back, after hitting an RBI single to center in the top of the third inning. Jeff Banister, Rangers manager is not sure if Beltre will be available for Game 2.

Blue Jays outfielder, Jose Bautista also left the game, after he hit a solo homer in the sixth, because of a sore right hamstring, but according to the Blue Jays, Bautista might play in Friday’s game. The player said the Game 1 defeat “doesn’t make a difference.” He also said “We’ve still got to go out there tomorrow and keep winning games and we have to go to Texas anyway and win there.”
