The battle between the Cardinal and Wildcats didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Arizona was handed a 55-17 defeat on Saturday at Stanford Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Cardinal were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -13.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 59.0.
Jerrard Randall rushed for 67 yards, while Nick Wilson added 46 yards in the win. Johnny Jackson and Samajie Grant added 84 and 35 receiving yards respectively.
Christian McCaffrey rushed for 156 yards for Arizona, while Barry Sanders added 76 yards. Kevin Hogan threw for 217 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Michael Rector and Trenton Irwin had 72 and 53 yards respectively.
Arizona lost the offensive yardage battle to Stanford 570-314 yards in Saturday’s game. Stanford had more first downs as that total ended up 30-16.
Stanford led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 37:19-22:41 split in that important category.
Stanford heads into a Week 7 battle against UCLA. Arizona, meanwhile, will have their next action against Oregon State.
