The Golden Gophers were Week 4 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Bobcats by a score of 27-24 at TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota did not, however, defeat the Bobcats against the spread, which closed at -7.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 47.0.
Daz’mond Patterson rushed for 70 yards, while A.J. Ouellette added 59 yards in the win. Sebastian Smith and Papi White added 69 and 47 receiving yards respectively.
Rodney Smith rushed for 94 yards for Ohio, while Shannon Brooks added 82 yards. Mitch Leidner threw for 264 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers KJ Maye and Rodney Smith had 64 and 58 yards respectively.
Ohio lost the offensive yardage battle to Minnesota 468-345 yards in Saturday’s game. Minnesota had more first downs as that total ended up 24-18.
Minnesota led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:02-29:58 split in that important category.
Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Northwestern. Ohio will aim to get back on the winning track at Akron.
