Josh Ferguson tore up the turf for 133 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Tar Heels to a 48-14 win over the Fighting Illini at Kenan Stadium.

Josh Ferguson rushed for 133 yards, while Ke’Shawn Vaughn added 51 yards in the win. Geronimo Allison and Marchie Murdock added 53 and 49 receiving yards respectively.
Elijah Hood rushed for 129 yards for Illinois, while Marquise Williams added 105 yards. Marquise Williams threw for 203 yards for the Fighting Illini, while receivers Quinshad Davis and Ryan Switzer had 56 and 50 yards respectively.
Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to North Carolina 471-399 yards in Saturday’s game. North Carolina had more first downs as that total ended up 23-22.
Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 35:47-24:13 split in that important category.
Next game, North Carolina takes its act home to face Delaware looking for another win. For Illinois, they head home to face Middle Tennessee.
