Now that the court cases are settled and the football balls have been properly inflated, it’s time to play some real football. Tonight at 8:30 pm, Eastern Time, the much anticipated Thursday night season-opener, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots are entering the field in full force, or maybe not!

Gutsy, provocative and insubmissive Patriots, it’s them against the world, so be ready to watch an overpowered Steelers defense against a much loved Tom Brady. We do remember the last 3 games that Brady played against the Steelers, he averaged 37 points per game. Let these statistics speak for themselves.

On the Steelers side an interesting point comes to mind, following the legendary Dick LeBeau’s departure as defensive coordinator for Pittsburgh, will this anonymous man who’s taking his spot do the job?

His name is Keith Butler and all eyes will be on him this Thursday night. He’ll need to render his team efficient, fast and furious and if he can’t it’ll be a lost cause for the Steelers.

Furthermore the Steelers defense being in transition, they are relying on an offense who’s been described as the league’ best, but with further analysis we realize its not quite what it seems. Martavis Bryant suspended for a substance-abuse violation will be out for 4 weeks, Maurkice Pouncey is gone through mid-season with a broken leg, a 2 week suspension for substance-abuse violation keeps Le’Von Bell, top fantasy pick, out, so with Poucey and Bell, two of the most important offensive players, not playing it’ll be interesting to see how this will all play out.

Now lets take a look at their defense, (second round) cornerback Senquez Golson is out for the year following a shoulder injury, making very little impact in training camp, (fourth round) cornerback Doran Grant, highest drafted rookie is cut, safety Shamarko Thomas, can be benched due to exhaustion after playing too many preseason, (seventh round) safety Gerod Holliman, was cut due to his poor physicality and last but not least, Will Allen, will probably start alongside vet Mike Mitchell, although his task was to only provide safety depth.

As for cornerback position Cortez Allen, struggling in camp, may be replaced by Antwon Blake, on a waiver pickup from Jacksonville and as for Brandon Boykin, it seems that he’s not what they need as their nickel. Overall, just a broken down fiasco.

This is a game you can’t miss, with an emotionally charged, sky-high Patriots team with an exhilarated Tom Brady and a precarious Pittsburgh Steelers team, whose offense was described as the team’s best, Thursday night, ready or not they are on.
