Blake Decker’s 319-yard performance through the air was the key in Northern Illinois’s 38-30 win over UNLV on Saturday at Huskie Stadium.
The Huskies earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -21.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 61.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Blake Decker completed 21 of 39 pass attempts for 319 yards for the Huskies in the win.
Joel Bouagnon rushed for 152 yards for UNLV, while Drew Hare added 14 yards. Drew Hare threw for 360 yards for the Rebels, while receivers Kenny Golladay and Tommylee Lewis had 213 and 44 yards respectively.
UNLV lost the offensive yardage battle to Northern Illinois 545-493 yards in Saturday’s game. UNLV had more first downs as that total ended up 28-24.
The time of possession battle favored UNLV as their offense was on the field for 35:34, longer than the 24:26 of their opponents.
Next game, Northern Illinois takes its act home to face Murray State looking for another win. For UNLV, they head home to face UCLA.
