Wide receiver Reggie Wayne doesn’t want to leave just yet, but the interest of NFL teams has grown thin.

In 2001 Reggie was selected by the Indianapolis Colts and joined other star receiver Marvin Harrison, breaking into the starting lineup in the 2003 season, he went on to sign a $39.5 million over 6 year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. Catching the winning touchdown in 2009, by 2010 he was considered second in the NFL receptions, confirming his status as one of the top receivers. His numbers decreased in 2011, without Peyton Manning as starting quarterback, he still managed to lead the team with 75 receptions and 960 receiving yards.

The Indianapolis Colts resigned him on March 2013 to a 3 year contract and by 2014 he became the 9th receiver in the NFL history, recording 14,000 receiving yards. An elbow injury kept him from playing the week’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and by the end of 2014 he was undergoing a triceps surgery. By March 2015 it was announced that the Colts would not resign him thus making him a free agent by March 10th 2015.

It is hard to differentiate curiosity versus interest, when teams are just asking about medical progress and where will he play next season. But where ever he signs, if he signs at all, any team should consider themselves extremely lucky to have him, not only for his career experience but for his leadership.
