Director Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski, will have the grueling task to size down to 12 the above mentioned 41 players.

As for the injured players, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Paul George, they’ll be expected to be present at the UNLV campus, although not participating in the non contact workouts.

“It’s going to be a very difficult team to pick and get down to 12,” Colangelo told ESPN.com. “So we need to have them there because we need to find out where we are with everyone.”

Last time the USA Basketball lost in this type of major international competition was in 2006 FIBA World Championships, Greace vs Team USA semifinals. Since then it was a constant sweep of victories.

  • 2008 Olympics,
  • 2010 FIBA World Championships,
  • 2012 Olympics
  • 2014 FIBA World Cup.

With such a list of rosters, you can probably gather a discarded team and yet compete with any country in the world.
