Another Hand Injury for the NFL C.J. Wilson lost two fingers

Jason Pierre-Paul of the New York Giants made the news with his hand injury that occurred on July 4th, during a firework celebration of Independence Day but he is not the only athlete wounded by fireworks and the outcome is much more dramatic.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson was the victim of a fatal explosion in which he lost two fingers. The news went viral on Wednesday afternoon, the injury occurred while at home in Lincolnton with family and friend. Wilson, appearing in 2 games last season and credited four tackles, was set to enter training camp next month and he’s also in his final season of a two-year nonguaranteed base salary of $585,000.

“We are aware that C.J. was involved in an accident that occurred over the July 4th holiday. It is our understanding that the injury occurred to one of his hands and our primary concern at this moment is for his long-term health. We have been in contact with C.J. and are continuing to monitor the situation,”
