Patrick Beverley, who missed much of the playoffs because of a torn left wrist, has agreed to extend his contract with the Houston Rockets. This player is what you call one who can bother elite point guards though he’s not one himself, his defensive qualities are what makes him a great teammate. With a 10.1 points 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 30.8 minutes, last season, he signed for $25 million over 4 years.

Beverly played in Russia, Greece, the Ukraine and was sough after by a number of franchise such as  the Cleaveland Cavaliers, the Dallas Mavericks the, New York Knicks, to name a few.

But the reason he did not get a bigger deal is that the point guard market is simply saturated, not to many teams is in search for a replacement at that position thus not giving Patrick much leverage.

Here are some more updates:

  • Rajon Rondo:  1 year, $10 million with the Sacramento Kings
  • Al-Farouq Aminu:   4 years, $30 million with  Portland Trail Blazers
  • Alexis Ajinca:   4 years, $20 million with the New Orleans Pelicans
  • Iman Shumpert:  4  years, $40 million with Cleveland Cavaliers
