PHILADELPHIA – At is third year season, Ryne Sandberg resigned as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies Friday , when the formation of the National League has the worst record of the Majors.

Sandberg leaves office with a career record of 119-159 .  Last year’s only full season with the team, Sandberg won 73 games and 89 suffered setbacks.

55 years old , Sandberg is a former second goal star player with the Chicago Cubs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.

The Phillies had very modest expectations in 2015, and little hope of fighting for a spot for the playoffs, and were also facing important decisions about the future of two of their highest paid players, the lefty Cole Hamels pitcher and first baseman Ryan Howard.
