The 23 years old Roberto Firmino is now this summer 5th signing. Liverpool Chief executive Ian Ayre flew to Chile on the early hours of Wednesday morning, UK time, to close the deal. Formerly with Figueirense in Brazil, Firmino is now able to play anywhere across the front three although you’ll find him on duty on the Copa America with Brazil.

The deal is yet to be subject to a medical that will be taking place only after the participation of Brazil in Copa America, which brings Liverpool to pay £21.3m now but the fee can rise it up to £28m thus making Firmino the second most expensive athlete after Andy Carroll.

Danny Ings, Adam Bodgan, Joe Gomez and James Milner will also form part of Bredan Rodgers rebuilded team especially after a discouraging Premier League campaign.

When first arrived at Hoffenheim in early 2011, the nineteen year old Roberto Firmino signed for £3.52m and scored 48 times in 152 games for Germany and scoring 7 times in the Bundesliga last season, including Sunday ‘s Brazil 2-1 victory over Venezuela in Copa America.

So lets keep our eyes on the screen for Saturday’s game Brazil vs Paraguay quarter final as Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, now Liverpool team mate, are set, replacing Neymar who’s been suspended for the rest of the Copa America event.
